Benrahma or Fornals?
Pleasing as it was to see Pablo back enjoying himself so effectively against Leeds, I expect that Moyes still considers Benrahma to be his principal third attacker. Although Benny was probably MOTM in the first leg against AZ, an in-form Fornals offers more in my opinion. For a start he can use either foot effectively, which means less turning back to slow down a left-wing attack. He also has a better shot. I would give each a half against Leicester and select the better performer to start in Prague.

Can't believe anyone would seriously consider playing Fornals ahead of Benrahma in the final.. do you not want to win it?

Why do you need Soucek physical presence when we already have Rice and Paqueta in mdfield?

It's not a fight. It's a game of football. With those two in the side Fornals offers a whole lot more than Soucek's physcial prescence.

At this point, I don't even want Soucek dropped.

His performances have picked up of late, and you just know the eyeties won't have a clue how to handle him at set-pieces.

For me, he's the first name on the team sheet.

Re: Benrahma or Fornals?
I would tend to put Fornals in front of Benny on 7/10 occaisions as I think he generally offers more.

However, in the last few weeks Benrahma has played some of his best games for us since he arrived, so on form I'd keep him in the team. He was magic against Man Utd and AZ at home.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but I rarely see Bowen on the left or Benrahma on the right.

Just in case Mr Moyes reads this:

Keep Bennie, Drop Soucek, replace with Fornals into CM. Keep Bennie, Drop Soucek, replace with Fornals into CM. Keep Bennie, Drop Soucek, replace with Fornals into CM. Keep Bennie, Drop Soucek, replace with Fornals into CM.

Re: Benrahma or Fornals?
If both of them had a consistent end product then they would both be brilliant but that's down to the coaching. You have to improve players weaknesses and decision making as a coach and IMO too many of our players haven't improved.

I like both, but both can be frustrating. Pablo is clearly a confidence player who can perform from one wild extreme to another. I thought he was excellent on Sunday and showed a range of passing he clearly is capable of. Said could be a match winner if only his decision making and final pass or shot was consistent, because he has bundles of skill.

I've said before that part of the issue is managers fascinations these days to play players on the opposite side to the strength of their foot. I'm not saying don't do it, but mix it up. Benny is clearly right footed, and Bowen's right foot is just for standing on. How many times do we see Benny beat a man, get to the byline and fail to execute a cross with his left foot? Benny on the right, Bowen on the left wrapping their better feet around a cross back to the penalty spot would possibly get Tomas back into the goals as he will be coming in on those pulled back crosses. As it is Benny's are either floated too close to the keeper or they go out of play. Both players coming onto their right to cross from deep are also bypassing Soucek running in.

Re: Benrahma or Fornals?
I'd be happy to see Fornals start, think he could cause Fiorentina some problems getting into some pockets in front of their defence, and can you imagine how fired up he'd be, lol. We know Soucek will start, so it would be Benny who drops out, but for me that's unlikely, which would be a shame for the lad (Fornals).

Re: Benrahma or Fornals?
Fornals hasn't got the physical presence of Soucek . If Moyes could manage a squad he could play either as and when required

Re: Benrahma or Fornals?
Soucek is a limited player but he’s back to winning headers and defending well. He’ll probably score in Prague too.

Fornals and Downes have to be what Moyes has made them. Decent reserves…

Spot on and drop the Carthorse Soucek.
This of course gives VEXED a problem as he can't tell someone to fuck off and respect his opinion.
In all seriousness VEXED I really look forward to your
comments/posts but sometimes there are other opinion's out there.

Shall we drop Rice or Paqueta for Fornals then? I mean he prefer the middle of the park and he does smile a lot doesn't he?

No? Oh perhaps everyone should shut the fuck up with this stupid fucking shit then.

Re: Benrahma or Fornals?
Benrahma can do things that fornals can’t and vice versa .Who gets the shirt depends on the opposition ,the tactics and how the manger wants the team to play,I’d personally play benny at home and fornals away especially against the top 6.

Sir Alf 8:44 Mon May 22
Re: Benrahma or Fornals?
Fornals has largely been poor this season but we should remember he is not a wide player which is where Moyes always puts him. He was a Spanish U21 central midfielder and played there exclusively as a youngster.

He has never been given a run of games in his correct position. Same as Downes who has been placed in an advanced midfield position when all his career he’s been a deep lying central defensive midfielder. Same as he always plays inverted wingers or Scamacca and Ings as lone strikers.

Yeah Fornals has had one good game all season let's bin Benrahma off.

Re: Benrahma or Fornals?
Fornals should've gone more central and taken souceks position a long time ago. Moyes can't develop players to do that sadly.

Re: Benrahma or Fornals?
Fornals everyday of the week.
Brilliant team player and best passer of the ball at the club.
Would lose a decent penalty taker but you shouldn’t get the nod because of that.
Benrahma’s final ball/shooting is just fucking woeful, not even Sunday league class.
